System overview
The SS501 uses a green laser for pointing and visual measurement. Two units mounted parallel at a known separation provide a scale in video or still images; an additional intersecting beam can assist distance measurement. A line-beam option supports surface-profile observation. The December 2025 specification identifies a 6000 m aluminum configuration.

Optical geometryLaser option
Select output and spot/line geometry. Paired installations require a known baseline and aligned mounts; mounting accuracy determines the scaling geometry.

Compatibility and naming
Operating-temperature conversion and red-laser wording require clarification. Current laser operating manual and complete integration instructions were not found publicly.
